Paul Daniels and Barry Murray - Adult Magic
This is probably one of the few magic books you will want to read cover to cover. The book is British and includes magical bits involving Knights, dickie birds, drunken Irishmen whilst referencing the United States as a foreign country. Mr. Daniels makes every page come alive as if you and he are at the same table or bar.. He not only tells how but shows you how you to do the effect and what to say or what he says for patter. This is the first magic lessons book that actually takes you by the hand during the presentation of some 77 close-up magic tricks (excluding all the grips, spreads, cuts and passes of cards in Chapter 8). The book generously supplies numerous close-up B&W photos on almost every page. Approximately one-third of the book is related to playing cards. You already have everything on hand (cards, matches, handkerchief, spoon, cigarette, coin, etc). There are no rope tricks and only one effect requires a crystal ball. Chapter 7 is dedicated to eight effects for children by adults.
The "Adult Magic" book is written on a mature level of explanations (not a child's level) so that adults can entertain others. Hence wherein and witnessed thereof this book does not contain any dirty tricks, black magic or questionable incantations.
