This is a new effect where the magician, using a deck of cards, narrates the adventure of four bold young men (the protagonists, chosen at the “stop” by a spectator) who, on a dark and stormy night, meet three daredevil girls, who magically jumped into the center of the story by being the only cards turned face-up in the middle of the deck.
Gathered to face the night, they will find nothing better than to seek shelter in a dilapidated, seemingly abandoned hotel. Settling into the only two rooms still usable, one on the ground floor and one upstairs, the unfortunates are unable to get to sleep and decide to “get to know each other better”.
A short time later, they all find themselves together in the downstairs room, evidently not being aware of how, in any self-respecting horror movie, this does not lay much in favor of their fate. In fact, sensing loud bangs coming from the upstairs room, the girls immediately return to their room to better check on. However, a macabre surprise awaits both the three women and the four deluded young men, who thought they were the only protagonists in this horror story.
Note: This effect, in order not to be reduced to a packet trick and to be able to retain the final twist, requires also a double-backed deck, easily available from magic houses and online (link provided)
