This sixth part of my card project (each volume is, in any case, totally independent of the others) includes 3 new original A.C.A.A.N. effects requiring no sleight of hands:

  • B.F. (Back & Front) ACAAN
  • Impromptu Countdown ACAAN
  • ACAAN For Tea Time

It's a new series of hands-off self-working card magic effects, that will all happen in your viewer's hands. No particular skill is required, just the ability to instruct and pay attention to what the viewer is doing... In this third eBook you will find a colour Pdf that will allow you to perform amazing automatic "Any Card At Any Number" Effects. These are the simple rules that all my effects obey in this project:

  1. The deck in use could be stacked or gimmicked, but anyway it must be possible to show it to the audience (and in case, to be quickly examined by a spectator).
  2. Once the cards have been (falsely) shuffled, the deck is given to a spectator and the performer will no longer touch it until the effect ends.
  3. The performer will simply provide all the instructions that the spectator will follow and the effect will happen in his own hands.
  4. Viewers will truly believe they have complete freedom in choosing both the number and the card.

Included in Volume 6 there are three of my new unreleased effects, the second of which requires no preparation whatsoever (it is completely impromptu with a borrowed shuffled deck):

B.F. (Back & Front) ACAAN

The illusionist, after showing the audience a dozen cards bearing numbers from 1 to 12 on one side and small numbers, both positive and negative, on the other side, and quickly shuffling them, hands the bundle to a spectator so that, through some cutting, redistribution and flipping, he can generate random numbers that will be added together and the resulting NUMBER will be noted.

The magician will then draw a deck of 52 cards from the case, show it and quickly shuffle it, and then invite the same spectator to cut it at will. He will then be instructed to point to a CARD in a similarly random manner, raising the deck at any point so that two cards will be drawn: from the top of the remaining deck on the table the top card will indicate a VALUE and, from the bottom of the raised pack, the other card, again at the point where he cut, to indicate a SUIT.

Magically, by counting from the top of the deck just the previously selected NUMBER of cards, the spectator will arrive at the CARD indicated just before based on his (or her) choices.

Impromptu Countdown ACAAN

From any borrowed shuffled deck a spectator draw any CARD, showing it to the audience and declaring its value aloud, before laying it on top of the deck, face down. The card will be lost in the deck by first relocating it to a random position determined by the name of the card and then by visually cutting the deck into three packs and completing the cut.

At that point the spectator will begin a series of countdowns, by counting down to ZERO, for three or four times, and matching each number with a card turned face up and taken from the top of the deck. For each pile of cards, he will stop whenever there is a coincidence between the countdown number and the value of the card (if there is no coincidence, at ZERO that pile will be considered "burned") and he will eventually move on to the next one. At the end of the lastl countdown, a certain number of cards will remain in the spectator's hand and he will be asked to add up the values of the cards now at the top of the stacks.

Having then obtained that NUMBER, the spectator himself will begin to count the remaining cards one by one and, magically, will find himself holding the very card he has chosen.

ACAAN For Tea Time

The illusionist, after showing, shuffling and giving to cut, places a deck of cards in the spectator's hands. He then asks him to divide it into three bunches, look at the CARD at the top of the middle one, memorize it and disperse it into the bunch that will end up at the bottom, taking care however to shuffle it first, as well as to shuffle the bunch from which it came.

Once the deck is reassembled, the spectator will only check that his card did not end up exactly at the bottom, then he will be asked to indicate a number himself: no one will have a clear idea of where the card may have ended up, but the magician will simply observe how it ended up in the bottom deck, so it could be a position, say, between 30th and 40th and will therefore ask to choose a NUMBER included in that range. The spectator will count that number of cards and, after making a magical gesture and turning over the card, will incredibly find that very one chosen.
